Abstract

Gauss-Bonnet gravity is a natural generalization of general relativity which includes higher order curvature terms and obeys Lovelock’s theorem. However, unlike Einstein equations, the gravitational equations in Gauss-Bonnet gravity are not quasi-linear any more. A lot of differences arise due to this point. In this talk, I will discuss the exact solutions in this theory and the construction of general gauge invariant perturbation theory. Based on these, the dynamical stability and the quasi-normal modes (QNMs) spectral stability of the black holes will be discussed.

曹利明,中国科学技术大学物理学院教授。2001年获兰州大学物理学学士学位,2008年在中国科学院理论物理研究所获博士学位,随后分别在韩国和日本从事博士后研究工作,2011年12月加入中国科学技术大学物理学院。主要从事引力理论和黑洞物理研究,研究领域包括黑洞热力学和时空几何性质,引力全息性质,引力微扰理论和引力辐射等等;目前在国内外期刊发表论文50余篇,引用3000余次。
