Marcus Sperling, associate professor at Shing-Tung Yau Center of Southeast University, published a paper with the title “3d N = 4 mirror symmetry with 1-form symmetry” in the SciPost Physics recently.
3d mirror symmetry has greatly enhanced our understanding of various aspects of 3d N=4 quantum field theories. Recently, higher symmetries have emerged as a new characteristic of quantum field theories that offers new constraints on the dynamics.
This paper gives a thorough and explicit account of how certain finite cyclic 1-form symmetries are introduced in 3d N=4 quiver gauge theories, and how to identify the 3d mirror theories. The choice of studied theories covers a wide spectrum (unitary, orthosymplectic, and non-simply laced quivers), and allows to connect to theories in higher dimensions via the “magnetic quiver”
framework.
