为活跃中心学术氛围，促进成员间的学术交流并激发合作，丘成桐中心代数与数论组将从2022年10月末开始定期组织周五讨论班。周五讨论将面向代数与数论组、全体中心成员、数学学院研究生及感兴趣的校内外师生。

Abstract:
In recent years, people that are interested in the class groups of number fields use tools from probability theory (and computational mathematics) to study the distribution of class groups, instead of a single class group, which inherits the spirit behind the famous Prime Number Theorem discovered by Gauss and Legendre. In this talk, I'll try to make a brief introduction to the so-called Cohen-Lenstra-Martinet Heuristics and explain the term "distribution of class groups''.
近些年，数域的理想类群(ideal class group)的研究者开始使用概率论（以及计算数学）的方法研究类群的分布问题，而不仅仅是关注某一个群。这个想法和当初著名的由Gauss和Legendre独立提出的素数分布定理背后的想法一脉相承。在这个报告中，我将用尽可能简洁的方式介绍被称为Cohen-Lenstra-Martinet Heuristics的内容并解释理想类群的分布这一词语的含义。
About the Speaker:
Dr. Weitong Wang, did his doctoral study at the University of California at Berkeley and received his Ph.D. degree in May 2022. He joins the Shing-Tung Yau Center as Postdoc researcher in September 2022, supported by the Zhishan Fellowship of Southeast University. His main research interest is analytic number theory.
