Abstract
Coleman conjectured that when the genus g is sufficiently large, the Torelli locus in the Siegel modular variety A_g should contain at most finitely many CM points, namely there should be at most finitely many smooth projective curves (up to isomorphism) of genus g whose Jacobians admit complex multiplication. We explain geometric and arithmetic aspects of recent progress on this conjecture in term of Shimura subvarieties in A_g, based on joint work with Kang Zuo and Xin Lv.
About the Speaker
陈柯，南京大学副教授，研究方向为算术代数几何，2009年博士毕业于巴黎十一大，导师为算术几何名家Emmanuel Ullmo。其于2010年获首届新世界数学奖（博士论文银奖），且曾在 Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér.、 Compos. Math.、Math. Ann.等顶级杂志发表论文数篇。
