Abstract
I will express the torus partition function of a massive integrable QFT with diagonal scattering in terms of a grand canonical ensemble of loops on the torus. The loops interact through scattering factors associated with their intersections. By a Hubbard-Stratonovich transformation, the pairwise interaction of the loops can be decoupled and the partition function expressed as certain expectation value in the Fock space of the Hubbard-Stratonovich auxiliary fields. In the limit where one of the periods of the torus becomes asymptotically large, the H-S fields freeze to their expectation values which are determined by the TBA equation.
