丘成桐中心新增三位成员——林海、江云峰及Marcus Sperling
In October and November 2021, the Shing-Tung Yau Center of Southeast University welcomes three new members, Dr. Hai Lin as a professor, Dr. Yunfeng Jiang as an associated professor, and Dr. Marcus Sperling as an associated researcher.
Dr. Hai Lin got his B.S. in Peking University and Ph.D. in Princeton University. The research areas of Hai Lin are mathematical physics, quantum field theory and string theory. In particular, he works in gauge/gravity duality, emergent spacetime, string compactification and beyond standard model phenomenology, intersections between string theory and differential and algebraic geometry, quantum field theory of strong interaction, nonperturbative methods for quantum system and quantum field theory, and holographic dual methods of quantum information.
Dr. Yunfeng Jiang did his doctoral study in the Institut de Physique Theorique, CEA/Saclay and received his Ph.D. degree from Université Paris VI in 2015. Then he worked as a postdoc in the Institute for Theoretical Physics of ETH Zürich from 2015 to 2018 and as a fellow in the Department of Theoretical Physics of CERN from 2018 to 2021. His main research interests include integrable models and their applications in physics, ranging from high energy physics to condensed matter physics.
Dr. Marcus Sperling received his Master degree of Sciences in Physics from Technische Universität Dresden, Germany in 2013 and his Ph.D. degree from Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany in 2016. Then he worked as a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Faculty of Physics of University of Vienna in Austria from 2016 to 2018 and as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Yau Mathematical Sciences Center of Tsinghua University in China from 2018 to 2021. His main research interests include Supersymmetric theories in spacetime dimension 3 to 6 with particular emphasis on the geometry of the vacuum moduli spaces and the inclusion of supersymmetric defects.
