Abstract:3D critical phenomena are in general difficult problems. In the past decade, powerful techniques were developed to study criticality following the bootstrap idea: using consistency conditions, one can constrain the macroscopic theory without reference to specific microscopic details. In some cases, the constraints almost uniquely determine the theory and one obtains very precise critical exponents. In this talk, I will explain how conformal bootstrap works and overview recent progress. I will discuss in more detail on the 3D O(3) CFT bootstrap and its implication for the cubic model.


  报告人介绍:苏宁,2016年博士毕业于美国德州农工大学。2016-2019年分别在中科院及瑞士洛桑理工做博士后。2020年底将在意大利比萨大学做博士后。2020年被提名为Simons Bootstrap Collaboration Affiliated Investigator。研究兴趣主要包括共形场论的非微扰方法,及其在凝聚态和高能物理中的应用。
