We are pleased to announce the return of our lecture series, Introduction to Gravitational Wave Science.
Following the successful first part of our course held from October to December of last year, we will continue our exploration of Michele Maggiore's classic textbook, Gravitational Waves (Vol. 1). This upcoming segment will focus specifically on Chapters 3 and 4, covering the "Generation of GWs in linearized theory" and "Applications", with a special emphasis on the bound binary system of black holes. If time permits, we will also supplement the lectures with selected topics on GW Experiments from Part II of the text.
Whether you are returning from our previous sessions or new to this series, all young scientists interested in this exciting and rapidly evolving field are warmly welcome. The lectures will continue to be held weekly on Saturdays, 1:00 - 4:00 pm, starting March 14, at Room 1502, Shing-Tung Yau Center, Sipailou campus, Southeast University.
