Abstract
2d (0,2) supersymmetric theories share many features with 4d N=1 theories, yet they exhibit an even richer structure. Despite their intriguing properties, our understanding of (0,2) theories remains quite limited. In this talk, I will present new examples of (0,2) dualities and trialities that arise from the twisted compactification of 4d N=1 theories on S^2. However, I still feel our understanding of 2d (0,2) theories remains limited. I would appreciate it if the audience could provide me more insight about 2d (0,2) theories and possible interpretations of our results from various perspectives, including brane constructions, geometric engineering, chiral algebras, and the gauge/YBE correspondence. This talk is based on joint work with my students Jiaqun Jiang and Jiahao Zheng [arXiv:2407.17350].
Speaker
Satoshi Nawata received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, U.S.A. in 2008. Before joining the Fudan University as Associate Professor in 2016, he had been Postdoc in different institutes or universities all around the world. He is interested in mathematical structure hidden behind dynamics of M5-branes. He would like to understand intriguing connections of supersymmetric gauge theories, topological quantum field theories, mathematical physics and string theory via dynamics of M5-branes.
The seminar will be broadcasted online by Zoom.
